E3 2011: Battlefield 3 Will Have Co-op, Team Deathmatch

There’s no doubt that Battlefield 3 is one of E3’s most anticipated titles. Making the wait for a multiplayer gameplay reveal even harder is this statement from DICE’s general manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson via the Battlefield blog,” Of course there are things we will not be showing at E3, including the game’s extensive co-op campaign, the introduction of Team Death Match mode and the Battlefield 3 Battlelog web destination – featuring powerful social tools, feeds and detailed player stats.” Will the entire campaign be playable in co-op or will they be a bunch of standalone missions? Why do you like teasing us like this DICE?

He also pokes a bit of fun at Activision’s new Elite service that’ll levy a certain subscription fee to those looking for additional services. “Battlelog also lets you manage your friends lists, squad up, create platoons, use voice chat and follow your friends’ progress in real-time, and more. Battlelog will be available for the monthly fee of (drum roll)... zero dollars. “

While I appreciate the playful jabs, I do hope DICE remember the issues that plagued PC gamers when Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was launched. That was not funny.
