EA working on Dead Space FPS?

Dead Space was one of the few games out there that tread the fine line between horror, gore and all out action, near perfectly. Its sequel improved upon its predecessor in every way, so naturally EA has to keep this series going. While rumours of Dead Space 3 hit the net a while back, it seems EA also plan on making a Dead Space first person shooter. So like Doom 3 then? (I kid, I kid).

Why is EA doing this to me?

Besides the shooter, they’re going all out with the franchise with plans to give it some sort of a flying game as well. Umm ok then. Of course, while all this is happening, they are supposedly working on Dead Space 3 as well that according to Kotaku takes place on an Icy Planet and will feature co-operative play. As much as I love the Dead Space series, the cold hard fact is that they don’t sell as well as EA’s other franchises, which means EA could very well scrap the franchise at any point in time.
