Launched in the late 90s, the Flight Simulator series was one of the premier ‘flight-sim’ games launched by Microsoft. Right since its inception in 1982 till 2006, their Flight simulators had a cult following with the last one being the Flight Simulator X. Now, Microsoft have discarded the ‘Flight Simulator’ name and have renamed it ‘Flight’. What’s even better is that it’s completely free.
Microsoft's new 'Flight' simulator game
Microsoft announced the game earlier today, whilst also mentioning that Hawaii’s Big Island could be explored for free. Also those with a Games for Windows Live account can download additional free content, including achievements, missions, planes and a new Online Pilot Profile. Those looking to deepen their experience can purchase and download additional content that adds new aircraft, regions and customization options. Although the team that developed the earlier titles is no longer together, many of the ex-members have contributed to the development of this new title. Additionally, sign-ups for beta testing for Microsoft Flight are open, so if you want to be among the first to try out the game, you can click on this link. |
