Both the iPhone and iPad versions will not be identical ports of the PC version nor will they receive the same updates. Instead they will enjoy those features that only "make sense" on touch screen platforms. Development of the iOS port will be overseen by by Aron Neiminen, a new recruit to Persson's newly found company called Mojang. Minecraft for iOS platforms will be released sometime this year.
