Square Enix To Release True Crime: Hong Kong

02 Aug, 2011, 10:16 am IST | by Avinash Bali | Gaming

True Crime: Hong Kong was a troubled game from the get go. Initially it was plagued by a bunch of delays after which Activision pulled the plug on the project deeming it a waste of money. Well they worded it better but you get the drift.

It's BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!

It's BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!

Now it seems Square Enix have stepped in to save the day as they’ve picked up the rights to the game making sure it does get released (hopefully sometime this year). According to Eurogamer, Square Enix fell in love with the game as soon as they saw it running. From there on things pretty much fell into place as they met up with developer United Games Front and sealed the deal. While Square Enix have picked up the rights to publish the game, they haven’t purchased the rights to the brand name which means they’ll have to rename the game before release. But hey, who gives a flying duck as long as the game sees the light of day.

From gamers the world over, allow me to thank you Square Enix.
