Swiss Police Association Want Ban on Darkness II

An organization called the Swiss Police Association has called for a ban on 2K’s upcoming shooter The Darkness II in Switzerland because they feel Jackie Estacado, the game’s protagonist, kills a ton of cops. When contacted by GameInformer, 2K games in fact confirmed that there were no cops present in the game at all. Lol?

Did he look like a cop?

Did he look like a cop?

Apparently the organization is getting tweaked out by the riots in London and they feel there is a chance that cops may be portrayed as the bad guys, especially if you have to kill them in the game. Yes, that makes no sense whatsoever but then again, like I’ve said a bazillion times before, it all boils down to illiteracy. People don’t know what a game is about, see some screenshots, think they saw cops getting killed and boom! In a matter of minutes politicians, senators and all sorts of useless people get involved.

If anyone should be pissed with the game, it should be Italians since they’ve been cannon fodder in both games but you don’t see the game being banned in Italy do you? The Darkness II will be released by the 10th of February 2011 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
