Popular sportsgear brand Adidas, headquartered in Germany, suffered a blow, when a sophisticated mode of cyber-attack was made against the site, which has since then been pulled down. The attempt was discovered by the authorites on the 3rd of November, and it then prompted them to pull up their security. A report on BBC states that it is highly unlikely that any user data may have been compromised. But, the report quotes Adidas as saying that they value their customer privacy more than anything else, hence the decision to keep the site off limits for sometime. Hacked!
This attack adds to the string of several high-profile attacks in the past. While Adidas have on their part pulled down their websites, they are working on upping their security and have gone ahead with relaunching their websites. |
