We have already told you about Anonymous and its recent attacks. After hacking Sony’s PlayStation Network and bringing it to a standstill, it has now turned its attention towards Iran.

The members of the organization used Denial of Service (DoS) attacks and shut down various Iranian websites starting Sunday.  It also posted the following message, “The people of Iran have the admiration of Anonymous, and the entire world. We can see that Iran still suffers at the hands of those in power. Your former government has seized control, and tries to silence you. People of Iran--your rights belong to you."

The sites affected by these attacks are a Ukrainian dancing group (link contains profanity) and a Canadian information systems company (link contains profanity). This is third such attack on websites and companies within the last two years, which Anonymous believes are taking away people’s rights. The first was an attack on Paypal, MasterCard, Visa and other such companies which blocked payments going to WikiLeaks. The second was the recent Sony attack after it charged George Hotz in the PlayStation hacking case. But Anonymous has washed off its hands of the recent breach of Sony servers and the taking of personal and Credit Card information.
