Apple Earns More than Microsoft

Most of us know Microsoft for its Windows operating system and lately their Windows Phone 7 OS. We also know it to be one of the better earning companies in the world. Microsoft went on to make its earnings through its operating system and its office suite sales. Apple profit was a colossal $5.99 billion as compared to Microsoft’s $5.23 billion. Apple’s profits come through the runaway success of its iPod media players, the iPad tablets and also the iPhone. There are reports that Apple has beaten Microsoft’s profits for the first time in 20 years. Part of Microsoft’s profits dip might be due to the fact that they haven’t gotten into the tablet market. The wait is costing them dearly as tablet sales are expected to threaten the PC market, something that Microsoft heavily depends on for the sale of its operating systems and other software suites. |
