Google Doodles for archery at London 2012 Olympics

The much-awaited London Olympics 2012 have begun, and those going to Google.com today will see Google's Doodle for the archers at the games.The Google Doodle today has a female archer aiming at a bulleye that's one of the 'O's' in Google. Yesterday's Doodle was for the opening ceremony of London Olympics 2012. It showed 5 athletes on the track, each holding letters comprising the word - 'Google'. The Doodle also presented five sports - football, basketball, swimming, fencing, running, and javelin throw. The Olympic Archery competition at the London 2012 Summer Olympics is being held at Lord's Cricket Ground - the ground that has long been known as the home of Cricket.

India, however had a disappointing start after it finished last in the Olympics rankings. The men's archery team, comprising Jayanta Talukdar, Tarundeep Rai and Rahul Banerjee put up a score of 1969, while Korea managed a score of 2087, taking them to a lead. Deepika Kumari, finished eighth in a field of 64, on the opening day of the Games at the Lord's cricket ground on Friday. She fired eight Xs (bull's eye) and 25 10s, and added a total of 662 points. L Bombayla Devi finished 22nd with a total of 651 while Chekrovolu Swuro ended 50th with 625.
From India, a team of 81 athletes are part of the London Olympics 2012.
The London Olympics 2012 that started on 27 July, 2012 will go on till August 12, 2012.
