HCL partners with Siemens PLM for product development in India

| by Naina Khedekar | General

HCL has teamed up with Siemens PLM Software to accelerate client adoption of PLM software and services in the Indian market. This would help enhance product development and also enable the reduction of time needed to market for manufacturing companies in India. This partnership of HCL with the business unit of Siemens will allow delivery of superior and highly flexible and scalable PLM solutions across the industry verticals, along with focus onto Aerospace & Defense, Automotive and Ancillary markets.

Today companies want to gain competitive advantage and expand market share through faster time to market. The Siemens PLM Software partnership will help customers benefit from efficiencies in product development lifecycle thus impacting their bottomlines,” said Mr. GH Rao, Senior Corporate Vice President and President - Engineering and R&D Services (ERS), HCL Technologies. “This partnership is yet another milestone in our engineering heritage and platform development expertise across enterprise ecosystem and adds tremendous value to HCL’s service offerings.

This partnership will blend in HCL’s industry and process expertise, and system integration skills to complement Siemens PLM Software’s portfolio of digital lifecycle management solutions. Suman Bose, Managing Director, Siemens PLM Software, India, stated that, "HCL Technologies' deep domain expertise coupled with robust implementation methodologies complements Siemens PLM Software's comprehensive PLM solution suite.” HCL’s PLM practice provides a vast range of implementation and maintenance services to domains like aerospace, power, utilities and more. HCL is capable of executing complex PLM systems for Fortune 500 companies and would help strengthen Siemens PLM Software’s customers.

After a wave of speculations, HCL had finally confirmed that it would be bidding for the Aakash 2, but only if the price is feasible or else it will exit gracefully. Aakash2 is the next and upgraded version of the cheapest tablet in the world, known as an ambitious attempt at bringing technology to the have-nots and has not met with success, in terms of being able to keep up with performance expected by masses. Nevertheless, HCL has its own slew of tablets in the market , including the HCL U1 and MyEdu Tab that were launched in the market recently.
