Info on Pending Traffic Fines Via SMS

08 Sep, 2007, 3:21 pm IST | Anjali Rego |

Now motorists need not queue up outside traffic police offices to get details of their pending traffic fines – they can get it via SMS, courtesy the Delhi Police.

"The SMS service enables the motorist to get information about traffic notices/challans pending against them," said Joint Commissioner of Police (traffic) Qamar Ahmed. "The procedure is simple. Send an SMS N to 50100. The person will receive the SMS of pending challans," he added.

This information can also be accessed through the Delhi Police website www.delhipolice.nic.in by providing the vehicle registration number. People can also access the same information from the 36 traffic circle offices in the city.

The Delhi Traffic Police, in collaboration with Delhi Legal Services Authority is organising a 'Mega Traffic Lok Adalat' on September 8 and 9 for traffic violators to settle their pending challans/notices in the traffic courts of special metropolitan magistrates.

"Fines can be paid at any of the four court complexes. People can go to the nearest court complex irrespective of their residential address. But manual traffic notices issued at the spot, which are pending, can only be settled in the concerned traffic courts of special metropolitan magistrates," said Ahmed.

Senior officers of Delhi Police, head constables and constables of Traffic Police while performing duties note down the registration numbers of vehicles noticed committing traffic violations. Thereafter notices are sent to the vehicle owners. Or traffic challans are sent to the courts of special metropolitan magistrates of traffic police.

It's quite short and it doesn't have any sort of versus multiplayer but The Darkness II is a polished and brutal shooter you should definitely check out, especially if you like ripping dudes to shreds.
