Intex launches 3.5G USB datacard

Electronic products company Intex Technologies today launched its first 3.5G data card. It is a USB 2.0 device compatible with both 2G and 3G networks and supports High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSPA) services that enable higher data transfer speeds, increased efficiency and greater system capacity.

The datacard has data access rates of up to 7.2Mbps (download) and 5.76Mbps (upload). You can access a phonebook through the card and send SMS messages. The card supports Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), which is used to send text messages between a mobile phone and an application in the network.
 
The card is compatible with GSM, GPRS and EDGE (850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900) SIMs. It has dual external antennas that help boost signal strength and supports storage up to 16GB through microSD cards. It also has a built-in user manual that can be accessed through the GUI of the device.

The Intex 3.5G datacard is priced at Rs 1,800 and is available across the country at most IT and mobile retailers, Intex Square retail stores, various hypermarkets and online retail sites.

Intex also recently launched its first Android phone, the Intex Aqua 4.0. Available at a price of Rs 5,490, the phone is targeted towards urban and semi-urban students and young professionals. It has a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and 512MB of RAM. The device also comes with 131MB of built-in storage and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Micro 5 pin, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP, 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA are some of the connectivity options of the device. It is powered by a 1400mAh battery, which gives you talk time of up to three hours and stand-by time of up to 140 hours. It also has a 3 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
