Instagram’s new video feature is now seeing a completely different application on the Internet. While the online photo-sharing service had introduced the video sharing capabilities for better story telling along with its trademark filters, the marketing team behind the soon-to-be-released Steve Jobs biopic has decided to use the platform to promote the movie, which is being dubbed by the studio as the world’s first Instagram trailer. And from what can be seen so far, the promotion is now making more news than the trailer itself being featured on the platform.

Be that as it may, the comments that the super-short video has been garnering on Instagram have so far been positive. It can be assumed that the blink-and-miss nature of the video as well as the background score has some hand in the positive response. While the movie itself opened to mixed reviews at the Sundance Film Festival, where it was showcased earlier in the year, it could be that Instagram will help get it the audience that traditional trailers may not have been able to.
