Popular password managing service, LastPass has issued notices to all its users to change their master passwords with immediate effect. The service that helps over 1 million users manage their passwords across various platforms faced two traffic abnormalities last Tuesday. One of the anomalies even resulted in them leaving the company’s database without providing the company with an acceptable reason.

The company now fears the worst. In the wake of several data breaching incidents, LastPass wishes to be the wise one who learns from the mistakes of others. Fearing that hackers may have let themselves loose on the account details of several users, LastPass has issued notices citing that the users should change their master passwords. In addition to that, LastPass will also ensure the legitimacy of its users by matching their new passwords to the numerical Internet Protocol addresses that are attached to their computer’s previous IP addresses, or do a simple email confirmation.

The enormity of the situation can be analyzed from the fact that people use its services for a horde of purposes. Users trust LastPass services with the details of their bank accounts, or other sensitive data. However frightening the whole incident may seem to the users of LastPass, their swift action and mode of tackling a security breach has earned it great credibility among its peers.
