Hacker group LulzSec have issued a press release stating that after fifty days of high profile hackings they are calling it quits. LulzSec emerged on the scene broadcasting to the media through various press releases claiming the taking down of websites belonging to the likes of the CIA, FBI, Sony, the Brazilian government and other high profile organizations. On late Saturday night, the group released what they claim to be their final press release states, “50 days ago, we set sail with our humble ship on an uneasy and brutal ocean: the Internet. The hate machine, the love machine, the machine powered by many machines. We are all part of it, helping it grow, and helping it grow on us.

Chingra La Migra, they say!

LulzSec says bye bye!

They ended their press release by saying, “It's time to say bon voyage. Our planned 50 day cruise has expired, and we must now sail into the distance, leaving behind - we hope - inspiration, fear, denial, happiness, approval, disapproval, mockery, embarrassment, thoughtfulness, jealousy, hate, even love. If anything, we hope we had a microscopic impact on someone, somewhere. Anywhere.”

In a follow-up tweet to their press release, they said that they linked a cache of stolen data which according to a report by The International Business Times contains internal data from AOL, AT&T, Battlefield Heroes Beta users, FBI website defacement, Navy website defacement among others. The torrent file that contained the leaked information was posted on The Pirate Bay, but was later not available. LulzSec have urged their followers to join AnonOps to achieve glory. This apparent shut down was triggered by the possibility of one of their leaders Sabu being exposed.
