LulzSec Takes Down The Sun

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Rupert Murdoch. After the whole phone hacking scandal; infamous hacker group, LulzSec, have now resurfaced and have claimed responsibility for defacing the website of News International’s The Sun, which belongs to Rupert Murdoch himself. According to several Twitter posts by LulzSec, they claim that this was a part of Murdoch Meltdown Monday. There is no actual explanation as to why they defaced the website but in all likelihood it is due to get in on the fun at Rupert Murdoch’s expense.

LulzSec made various tweets mocking the website among which are, “We have owned Sun/News of the World - that story is simply phase 1 - expect the lulz to flow in coming days.” And “thesun.co.uk - what's going on here? Something up with the website? #Correct.” During the attack, those who tried to access The Sun were redirected to LulzSec’s Twitter page. The most scandalous of posts was a news article on The Sun’s homepage which proclaimed the death of Rupert Murdoch.

The website of The Sun is now up and running and LulzSec saying,” Thank you for the love tonight. I know we quit, but we couldn't sit by with our wine watching this walnut-faced Murdoch clowning around.”
