PBS Hacked In an Act of Revenge

Little did PBS (Public Broadcasting System) realize that relaying a documentary on an investigative news program on WikiLeaks by Frontline would make it the prime target of a nasty hacking episode.

The hacking episode came to light when fake news about rapper Tupac Shakur being alive in New Zealand began making appearances on PBS’s website. A certain hacker group, called LulzSec took up immediate responsibility of the act, and also stated that the act was a revengeful one as the website had carried a documentary on the WikiLeaks investigation. The documentary in question was pulled down yesterday after the hacking incident came to light.

The hacker group, in addition to the hack itself posted a video in which it taunted the PBS network, in addition to equally scandalizing Twitter posts. Even though the producers at Frontline, and the PBS officials looked visibly shocked at the incident, they added that such incidents are not ‘unexpected’.
