Recap: Tech2’s tablet TweetUp

We are finally done with Tech2’s first ever TweetUp, which took place last evening at WTF, Khar. The event kicked off at around 6 pm and we must say, we were quite pleased with the turnout. After some brief introductions, everyone got comfortable and got down to the agenda at hand, tablets. At first, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 and the Asus Eee Pad Slider, our wild card entry, hogged the most attention. The slim form factor of the Tab 750 is mostly what got people really excited and of course we had the inevitable iPad 2 comparisons along with equally heated debates on which was better. The Eee Pad Slider was one tablet that not many had seen in person so naturally the crowd was wild around that table. If we remember correctly, groups from the other tables were ready to trade the Flyer and Tab 750 for a go at the Slider but their efforts were in vain.

Amongst the freely flowing great snacks, we also had a little retweeting competition and the prize up for grabs was a sweet portable hard drive from the good folks at Iomega. We’ll be announcing the winner of that contest later in the day, so stay tuned. Mind you, this wasn’t a simple challenge, since cell reception wasn’t the best at the venue, so whoever has won has certainly earned it. We even had a big a$$ screen projected so everyone could see the tweets.

Getting deep into the tablet frenzy

Everyone had their own take on the different tablets, which is what made the evening fun and interesting and we’ve managed to capture most of them on film which we’ll be adding in a bit, so keep an eye on the videos section. Our resident film crew kept an eagle eye out for any hot debates spurring up and has managed to get some juicy bytes on camera. 

Overall, the evening was a definite success and for the most part we managed to stay on topic with the occasional rant about “What happened to the iPhone 5?” We would like to thank everyone who showed up and made this evening awesome and of course,the following companies for sending in the tablets on time:
