Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, has announced the addition of four new digital photo frames to its existing line. The SPF-85H and the Wi-fi enabled SPF-85V each have 8-inch displays. The larger DPFS with 10-inch displays are the SPF-105P and the SPF-105V that is also Wi-fi enabled. These Samsung DPFs are wrapped in a glossy black bezel with rounded edges for an elegant look. Each model features Samsung's Starlight Touch Controls which integrate the On Screen Display (OSD) buttons into the bezel. Starlight Touch features capacitive touch buttons, which disappear from the bezel after 10 seconds of inactivity. These digital photo frames can also be used as a secondary monitor for your laptop or desktop, using Samsung's UbiSync technology. The SPF-85V and SPF-105V are Internet Photo Frames, which allow for wireless connectivity via 802.11b/g. These frames are optimized for use with Windows Live Spaces for easy photo sharing. Additionally, these frames come with Samsung's InfoLink feature, which offers the ability to receive RSS feeds from "USA Today" and Frame Channel. The Samsung SPF-85H and SPF-85V both have 800 x 600 pixel resolutions but the 85H comes with 1GB of internal memory and the 85V comes with 64MB. Both have SD/MMC/MS/XD card slots as well as accommodation for USB. The 85H has a feature that auto resizes the image for the frame and an auto on/off function as well. The 85V comes with an accelerometer like auto screen rotation function. The larger 10-inch models have resolutions of 1024 x 600 pixels and also have card slots with a USB slot. Like the 8-inch models, the 105P comes with 1GB of in-built memory and the 105V that has Wi-fi comes with 64 MB internal memory and auto screen rotation. All four models have rechargeable batteries which is definitely the most endearing feature as most other DPFs require DC outlets for power. Available September 1st, the SPF-85H and SPF-85V are offered at an estimated street price of $129.99 and $199.99, respectively. The SPF-105P will be available from October 1st at $199.99 and the Wi-fi enabled SPF-105V will be available for an estimated street price of $289.99 on November 1st.
