| by Padmini Harchandrai | GPS Devices

MapMyIndia has launched the Zx250, a 3D portable navigator using which users can view features, like landmarks, buildings and elevation across hills in 3D. With the Zx250, users can also perform basic house level searches, access built-in city and travel guides, a detailed trip computer and turn-by-turn voice instructions, as they can with other MapMyIndia devices. The Zx250 comes with a 12.7 cm touch screen. It has a music player, a movie player and a digital photo frame with 2GB built-in memory and 8 GB expandable memory. It streams both music and audio instructions wirelessly through the car's sound system over a user chosen FM frequency. It has an ambient light sensor and an AV-in slot to connect a reverse camera.

The 3D features of the navigation device are supported by Aura, a MapMyIndia 3D navigation software. The device will have version 7.0 of MapMyIndia's maps, which is the latest version from the navigation company. It contains house-level maps for 36 cities, with 20 cities in full 3D. It also contains street-level maps for 4000 cities and all 5,76,000 towns and villages connected via highways and road network.
