Asus launches the GeForce GTX Titan GPU for a hefty Rs 67,000

Asus today launched the GeForce GTX Titan GPU, which is based on the supercomputer-grade Nvidia Tesla K20X architecture. The new card is said to deliver the world’s most powerful single-GPU performance. As per a press release, the GPU is optimised for DirectX 11.1 and PCI Express 3.0, and has a GPU clock of 876 MHz achieved by use of Nvidia’s GPU Boost 2.0 technology.

The GTX Titan has a mind-numbing 6GB of GDDR5 video memory clocked at 6000 MHz. The company claims that the GPU delivers graphics processing power in standards well beyond full HD 1080p. The ASUS GeForce GTX Titan ships with ASUS’ GPU Tweak utility, which allows you to easily modify performance parameters through a detailed interface.

A powerful GPU for the wealthy and the insane

The Asus GeForce GTX Titan uses a single GPU rated at 876 MHz. Nvidia’s GPU Boost 2.0 technology drives the GPU clock, enabling higher core frequencies while ensuring stability and thermal efficiency. Users can change clock speeds and power consumption profiles, and even control GPU temperatures via the Nvidia GPU Boost 2.0 interface.

Asus GPU Tweak is also integrated into this package, offering detailed graphics card performance modification options. You may change core and memory clocks, voltages and fan speeds, plus create dedicated profiles for different games and applications.

The Asus GeForce GTX Titan derives its design from NVIDIA Tesla K20X technology. The Asus GeForce GTX Titan uses 2688 CUDA cores and a 384-bit memory interface for its GDDR5 video memory. As such, it delivers enough power to easily handle the most advanced games and multimedia in resolutions above 2560 x 1600.

The GTX Titan has a pretty hefty price tag and costs Rs 67,000. It comes with a three-year warranty.
