DailyTech reports that they have received an ATI product advisory pertaining to RV570 GPU. The RV570 is going to be launched as the Radeon X1950 Pro with 12 pixel pipelines and 36 pixel shaders. The Radeon 1950 Pro belonging to the Performance segment below the Enthusiast segment is expected to be between $300 and $350. The reference boards from ATI will be available around 19th of September and one should expect the products to be available in retail by mid October. The X1950pro is set to replace the X1900GT from ATI itself and ATI claims that it will be faster than the 7900GT, not that NVIDIA is keeping quiet about it. They've already announced the 7950GT and the 7900GS to counter this move. HDCP (High-Bandwidth digital content protection) support is not made mandatory by ATI and it depends on the board manufacturer to include it or not, though the ATI reference cards are all HCDP compliant. |
