MSI launches the HD 7970 for a whopping Rs. 50,000

AMD launched the HD 7970 a week back and close on its heels, MSI announced their offering in India, and it ain’t cheap. The MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5 will set you back by Rs. 49,700. Most people build their entire gaming rigs for this price, but that’s what you’ll have to pay, if you want to live on the bleeding edge of technology. The initial batch will be based on AMD’s reference design, with MSI’s custom cooler version coming in a bit later, along with the HD 7950.

The card will follow AMD’s reference specification and will feature a core clock speed of 925MHz and 3GB of GDDR5 memory running at 5.5GHz. The card will also support MSI’s Afterburner software for overclocking and overvolting the card. To make the card more stable, we have all solid state capacitors for a longer lifespan as well as the ability to connect up to 6-displays. You can have a look at the full specifications below.
