XFX Launches its Radeon HD6990 in India

10 Mar, 2011, 1:31 pm IST | by Sriram Gurunathan | Graphics Cards

XFX up until a couple of days ago held the mantle for the manufacturer with India’s fastest graphics card, the XFX Radeon HD5970 Black Edition. That dual-GPU card has supposedly been surpassed by the newly-announced HD6990 - which AMD claim is the world’s fastest graphics card - so XFX has simply released its own version of the HD6990.

The dual-GPU card, which features two Cayman chipsets clocked at around 830MHz, follows the reference design of the AMD Radeon HD6990 to the hilt, with only the branding being different. The 4GB GDDR5, the lone DVI port and the four DisplayPort 1.2 outputs all return.

The XFX Radeon HD6990 is available through Rashi Peripherals for an estimated street price of Rs. 55,000. The pricing AMD indicated was Rs. 44,990 and above, so it’ll be interesting to see exactly what spin of their own XFX have put on this card.
