The XG Station works by taking advantage of a laptop’s ExpressCard slot. This allows the laptop to utilize the PCIe x16 slot for additional graphical processing capabilities. In addition to the enhanced video capabilities, the XG Station features audio output capabilities and comes with a large LED display that displays vital system information.

Asus also plans not to sell the XG station as a standalone item. It will be bundling one of its own ASUS PCIe graphic cards along with the XG station.
