XFX Introduces 8800 GT "Alpha Dog Edition"

22 Nov, 2007, 3:56 pm IST | Jayesh Mansukhani | Graphics Cards

XFX has announced its edition of the 8800 GT chipset, namely the "8800 GT Alpha Dog edition". This new card features a unique thermal fansink design that allows a punch up in its core clock from the industry standard 600 MHz to 625 Mhz. This allows it to be up to 8 degree cooler in 3D applications. In addition to that other technical improvements have been made that include enhanced fan speed and improved air flow. This ensures that this 8800 GT runs cooler than other products in this range. Apart from the improved core clock, selected factory over clocked Alpha dog cards are also available in XXX and XT versions.

The card comes in a sleek glossy black finish and features an aluminum stress bar to help stabilize the PCB. The card is HDTV-, SLI-, HDCP- and RoHS-ready. It offers 512MB of DDR3 RAM and has support for Dual Dual-Link DVI. This enables the 8800 GT to drive the industry’s largest and highest resolution flat panel displays, supporting digital output of up to 2560x1600 on not one - but two - displays.

This card is available at Rs. 14,500 + taxes.
