New Mass Effect game coming to iOS

The last time a Mass Effect game came to iOS platforms, the results weren’t all that hot but BioWare are hoping second time’s a charm. According to Game Informer, they recently revealed a title for iOS platforms called Infiltrator, a third person shooter, with a cover system that will be more in line with the action packed Mass Effect universe.

Price or release date haven’t been announced yet but it seems Infiltrator will tie into your Mass Effect 3 experience by granting you exclusive weapons as well as increasing your “Galactic Readiness”, whatever that means. It seems the game is primarily about rescuing prisoners and gathering evidence against the nefarious Cerberus organization.  

Besides Infiltrator, it seems EA and BioWare are also designing a free app called Datapad that will allow you to check your Mass Effect 3 progress at all times. We’re guessing it will cover both single as well as the multiplayer aspect of the game. Mass Effect 3 releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC by the 9th of March 2012.
