Bebook Portable E-book Reader Announced

This is one market that has not really kicked off in India, but I feel it has potential. There are higher end PMPs that play all kinds of media including ebook pdfs, though having a dedicated device, with adherent features is always a gadget lover's preference. Thus these ebook readers seem very attractive. First there was the Kindle, highly promoted by Amazon, and now we have the new Bebook by a company called Endless Ideas. It supports various digital document formats such as .doc, .txt, .pdf, .jpg, .htm and .rtf files. You can carry books and documents into a device which is the size of a single book. It has E-paper and patent E-ink technology that claims to consume low power. The books can be read even in bright sunlight. It has Wi-Fi and USB connectivity. The pricing and availability is not yet announced, so stay tuned. |
