Hated the remote that comes with WD TV Live? Well, now you don’t need to bother with it as WD has launched a remote control app for Android and iOS that let’s you control the WD TV Live and Live Hub. This is a free download from the Apple app store and the Android Marketplace. The app won’t work with the WD TV, since you need Wi-Fi to connect to the player.

It’s not merely a clone of the physical remote, as WD have added some extra features as well, like a gesture pad to help navigate menu screens and services with intuitive touch gestures and QWERTY keyboard to support text entry. A ‘favourites’ screen provides quick access to entertainment services on the WD TV Live. Along with this, WD has also updated the apps on the devices themselves, which now includes SnagFilms, Comedy Time and Watch Mojo.
