Most 3D TVs require glasses to enjoy 3D content, but Sony has other plans. They’ve come up with a working model that doesn’t need these special glasses at all. But how is that different from all the other glassless 3D TVs being showcased at CES 2011? Sources say that this TV apparently has a really wide viewing angle, even for 3D content. This way, you won’t have to stand right in front of the TV when the scary monsters come at you from the TV screen. CEO of Sony Corporation of America, Howard Stringer gives a speech on 3D Apparently, legendary documentary filmmaker Sir David Attenborough, who has previously made films in 3D said that he believes the current experience is “isolating”. To counter that, Sony’s CEO, Sir Howard Stringersaid that the company plans on continuing its work on 3D vision with or without glasses, and the Sony will prevail against those "sceptical", as they have in the past with technologies such as HDTV and, initially, colour. Hopefully this is the dawn of a new era and 3D viewing will soon become a lot less cumbersome, doing away with glasses altogether. |
