CES 2011: Sony to launch 27 new HDTVs

06 Jan, 2011, 5:41 pm IST | by Siddharth Basrur | HDTVs

Bravia is in the house at CES 2011, with Sony launching 27 new HDTV models. These TVs will range in size from 22-inches to 65-inches, and will feature better internet connectivity, 3D viewing, and improved picture quality. Sources say that 22 of these models will include integrated online connectivity through either an Ethernet port or Wi-Fi, and that 16 models will support 3D playback. Although this year has seen some pretty big improvements, as well as disappointments where 3D is considered, Sony says that these TVs will have even faster response times with less cross-talk.

Sony's new HDTVs - a mix of brains and beauty

Sony is well known for their superior picture quality, but they have promised to make your viewing experience even better. This will be done using their new X-Reality PRO and X-Reality Engine digital video processors in these new HDTVs. Sony promises that these new video engines will improve the appearance of compressed HD, standard definition, as well as low-res YouTube content.

I can’t wait to see what they’ve really come up with, as most of these TVs will be available on shelves in May, although some of them will be out as early as February. Wonder when they’ll make their way to our fair country though.
