Soon Kwon, MD, LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd, said, “LG’s 84 inch Ultra HD 3 TV represents a whole new level of home viewing experience because it offers every advanced technology we currently have to offer. Technology and design are key factors behind LG Home Entertainment products. With four times the pixel resolution of today’s HDTVs, ultra-HD technology promises to transform the home entertainment experience on giant displays, truly recreating the movie theater in your living room. Ultra-definition television will transform the giant-screen viewing experience in the years ahead, and LG is proud to bring this new technology to the Indian market so that consumers can enjoy a fully immersive experience.”
Beyond the 84-inch screen, this model features LG’s Cinema 3D technology, which LG claims provides a comfortable 3D viewing experience similar to what consumers experience in the theatre.
LG Smart TV features LG’s '3D World', where users can access 3D content. Users can browse and navigate through the Smart TV ecosystem using LG’s four-mode Magic Remote, which has Premium Content, Home Dashboard, Smart Share Plus, and voice recognition.
LG’s new 84-inch Ultra HD 3D TV includes connectivity options. In addition to built-in Wi-Fi, it supports Intel’s Wireless Display (WiDi) technology, which enables connectivity between TVs and PCs without the need for cables or Internet access. With Smart Share Plus, users can access content stored on external devices such as PCs, tablets, and smartphones through a portal on the TV.
LG’s Magic Remote allows users to access and navigates the Home Dashboard. The imbedded 2D to 3D conversion engine expands the availability of 3D content and Dual Play takes head-to-head game play to a whole new level by allowing opponents to simultaneously see different images on the same screen. Dual Play does away with split screen gaming. LG’s Ultra HD 3D TV also features a 2.2 SpeakerSystem consisting of two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers, which reinforce the sound.
The 84-inch Ultra HD 3D TV range is available in the price range of Rs 17,00,000. The new series hits the Indian market from November 1, 2012.
Talking about targets, Soon Kwon added, “We are targeting business worth Rs.1000 crore from 3D TVs and aim to consolidate our position in the Flat Panel TV segment with 30 percent market share and 45 percent market share in 3D TV. We have an aggressive marketing strategy with a target investment of Rs.100 crore in Flagship product communication accompanied by experiential marketing campaigns.” |
