The Japanese, as usual, will receive the latest Blu-ray HDD combo from Sharp.

The BD-HDS43 is a mid-level Blu-ray player that boasts a single digital and analog TV tuner, a 320GB of HDD and the capacity to record in dual layer Blu-Ray disc. Up to 36 hours of HD content can be stored on the device's HDD, and then be burned on BD-R/RE, BD-R DL/RE DL, DVD-R/RW or DVD-R DL discs. The BD-HDS43 does not support direct recording on optical discs, or DVDs using the AVCREC encoding.

Other features include an HDMI output (1080/24p), D4, S-video, composite, optical and analog audio outputs and a 12bit/148.5kHz Video DAC. A 2m long HDMI cable is also bundled in the retail package of the BD-HDS43. The Sharp BD-HDS43 is priced at around 85000 Yen.
