| Apple has announced it will introduce a built- in high definition LCD display as an accessory for iPods, within the next five months. The add on will work like the iPod video sleeve, the iSee 360 launched earlier this year, using a USB 2 connector. Prices for the HD players will range from $199 to $250 and will be able to handle MPEG 4, Divx, HD.264 and other video formats. Like the iSee, these devices will allow consumers store video clips not encoded with Apple's copyright-protection software. California based ATO will manufacture the new sleeve for the iPod which will work for all iPods including iPod Nanos the standard-size iPods. John Scott, CEO of ATO said that the device is meant for watching small clips, for people who don't want to spend on the kind of studio fare that Apple is selling on its site. |
