Sony Launches New 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre Systems

Sony India has officially launched a new range of 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre Systems: the BDV-E980 and BDV-E880 along with a Blu-ray player BDP-S380. The BDV-E980 comes with four tall boy speakers while the BDV-E880 comes with two speakers. BDV-E980

Besides the difference in the number of speakers, both the 3D Blu-Ray Home Theatre Systems have similar features with 1000 Watts RMS, 3D picture and 3D surround sound and Wireless Internet connectivity for video playback. They have 2 HDMI input slots and allow playback for multiple formats including BD, DVD, CD, AVCHD, XVid HD, JPEG, MP3, MKV and AVI. 


 

Sony’s BDP-S380 Blu-ray Disc player is equipped to work with a variety of video formats including - BD, DVD, CD, AVCHD, XVid HD, JPEG and MP3. According to Sony, it is equipped with Precision Cinema Upscale via HDMI feature that up-scales DVD formats to near-HD quality picture. Another interesting feature it supports is allowing iPhone, iPad or compatible Android phones as a remote control by downloading the free Media Remote app from their respective Markets.

 

The BDV-E980 is priced at Rs. 39,990; the BDV-E880 is priced at Rs. 29,990 while the BDP-S380 Blu-Ray player retails for Rs. 8,990.
