For those didn’t know, Microsoft makes more than just the Windows operating system and office suites. They’ve also been making hardware for a while now and some of the recent products such as the Arc Touch mouse have gone to become fairly popular. Microsoft Hardware is a section of Microsoft’s business that handles hardware and it’s just turned 30. Microsoft Hardware was started back in 1982 and in 1983, they released their first Microsoft Mouse that was supposed to be compatible with Microsoft Word, the word processor component of MS Office. Since then, Microsoft Hardware has sold everything from trackball mice to gaming joysticks and keyboards. Microsoft Hardware’s blog has a post announcing their 30 years in existence. One of the latest peripherals from the Microsoft Hardware stable
There’s also some mention of some of the new colours that the new Arc Touch Mouse will be available in - Sangria Red Diamond and Cement Gray. The Arc Touch mouse was also being displayed at the Microsot booth at CES, this past week. The upcoming Windows 8 operating system is going to be highly dependent on touch input peripherals and we’re hoping Microsoft will extend Arc Touch support to it, or maybe release new peripherals that make navigating the new Metro UI on Windows 8 very natural. |
