Andhra Pradesh to Launch New Web Portal

14 Jun, 2008, 1:34 pm IST | IANS | Windows

Andhra Pradesh is set to launch a new web portal next month that would serve as a single gateway for all information about government departments and orders.

The portal www.ap.gov.in, which is to be launched July 1, will integrate all departments and will have updated information about the government.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who reviewed the performance of the information technology department at a high-level meeting, stressed that the portal should be a unique one.

The portal is being developed by the Centre for Good Governance and is now being tested.

All government orders would also be uploaded on the portal.

"The eGazette will also be available on the internet as soon as it is published and software development for this is under final phase," said a statement from the chief minister's office.
