Back in January of 2010, Google announced a ‘Chromium Security Reward’ program for folks who find critical security bugs for the Chrome Browser. The base reward for bugs is $500 (Rs. 22,630.94) with the more critical bug hunting fetching a cool and clever sum of $1,337 (Rs. 60,529.17)or ‘l33t’ for short. Six months later, the prize money for a single critical bug went up to $3,133.70 (Rs. 141,896.67) aka the 'elite' award Die bugs...die
No one had won this award until today, when a chap by the name of Sergey Glazunov discovered a critical bug within Chrome and submitted it to Google. In addition to winning the said prize, he picks up the ‘l33t’ award as well as several other prizes. |
