Google has launched its mobile advertisement tests in India, for users who want to advertise via Google's Web search on mobile devices. The text based mobile ads will appear along with search results accompanied by links to a mobile website or a phone number, which users can click to connect. Google mobile ads will have the same basic features as PC text ads, but with differences in character limit and call feature. The mobile ads will appear above and below the search results when a user searches on their mobile phone. Moreover, the application will enable advertisers to schedule their ads so users can call them only during regular business hours. According to Google India, the mobile Ads test will bring in a new trend, where advertisers can reach users with relevant information when they're on the move. This text-based ad format has been successfully tested in August 2006, with AdWords advertisers in the US, the UK, Germany and Japan. The tests in India are a part of a series of international tests held in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, China, Ireland and Australia. Read more here. |
