Online Dating portal, Yahoo! Personals and spiritual interest online community, Beliefnet.com have partnered to create an online community of 'spiritual online daters'. Yahoo! Personal will now power Beliefnet's dating site, Soulmatch.com, to allow existing members of the site to search and sort the entire Yahoo! personals database according to religious or spiritual preferences. In turn, Yahoo! Personals will add Beliefnet spiritual relationship content to its site to form an online spiritual center. Steven Waldman, CEO and co-founder of Beliefnet said, "For so many people, finding a soul match means connecting on a deep level—seeing what's on the inside as well as on the outside. We want to help people who believe that spiritual connection is an important part of building a great relationship." Beliefnet, which currently has more than 9 million subscribers, is a privately held company funded by employees, individual investors, Softbank Capital and Blue Chip Venture Company. Its currently listed religions include Hinduism, Sikhism as well as practices such as Scientology and Reconstructionist. Read more here. |
