Augere Wireless Broadband, a UK-based Broadband company has announced that they will invest roughly around $60 million in the next three to five years to get fourth-generation (4G) broadband services to customers in India.

The roll out for 4G will start off in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from January 2012, and based on the performance, services will later be made available throughout the major regions in the country. Indore, Raipur, Gwalior and Durg will also also get 4G services by April 2012, according to Telecom Talk. The services will be named ‘ZOOSH Broadband’ and as an estimate the company plans to cover all regions by early 2013. Augere has chosen Ericsson as the company that will operate and manage the services out here. This isn’t the company’s first foray into the South East Asian market, as they already are well established in Pakistan, as well as Bangladesh.
The Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based High Speed 4G Wireless services - Yes, that’s what they call it, don’t really make much sense if 3G services themselves are so expensive for customers currently. If these companies do want more customers, it’s imperative that there’s a massive price cut, or the number of adopters will be minimal. Will you switch over to 4G? |
