There are many, to-do mobile applications out there, but this one got a bit of buzz surrounding it before it launched. It's called "Clear", and it was announced at MacWorld, according to MacRumors. The app has been developed by Realmac Software and Impending, and the idea behind the app was to keep it minimalistic and use touch gestures for everything it can do. The app allows you to make personal to do lists, shopping lists, quick note lists for phone numbers and other things you might need to remember, lists of movies to watch or books to read, guest lists for parties, or bucket lists for bigger life goals. The application is available from the iOS App Store for $0.99 (approx Rs.48). The app requires iOS 5 and higher, and will work on iPhone 3GS and up, 3rd generation iPod Touch and up and iPad.
When you use the app, you'll mostly be using touch gestures. When you want to add something to a list, you will pull it down. When you want to note that you've completed a task, you swipe it to the right. If you want to delete an item, you swipe it to the left. If you want to add an item in between two others, you pinch them apart. When you want to close your current list and go to your list of lists, you pinch your screen vertically. Check out the video above to get an idea of how the app works.
Clear doesn't support recurring tasks, scheduled appointments, due dates, tagging, searching, nested folders or notes. The developers say that they realize those tools can be useful, but they believe those additional functions take away and distract from the purpose the application primarily is trying to serve. |
