A Good Day to Die Hard iOS game out now for Rs 55

With the next crop of summer blockbusters on its way, it’s time for some movie tie-in games. Fox has released a game to tie-in to the upcoming Die Hard movie – titled A Good Day to Die Hard. The game is available only on iOS as of yet, and is on the iTunes App Store for Rs 55. It is compatible with all iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads that run iOS 5.0 or higher. It is also been optimised for the iPhone 5, so you won’t be getting any letterboxing.

According to the description of the game, you play Jack McClane – son of legendary badass John McClane. You have to blast your way through Russia and Chernobyl where, as usual, you have to stop some terrorists’ plans to endanger the world. It combines the currently trending "endless runner" genre with shooting mechanics. You swipe on the screen to control the character and tap on enemies to shoot them.

There is also a leveling system where you unlock new abilities, weapons and equipment. One of the main features of the game is Adrenaline, which works as a kind of bullet time that slows the game down to super slow motion and lets you quickly take out multiple enemies at the same time. You’ll also be able to unlock new characters to play as. There is also integration with Twitter and Facebook, which lets you broadcast your highscores at the tap of a button.

Speaking of movie tie-in games in December, Zapak had relaunched the Total Recall game for Android and iOS devices. The game is enhanced with new features that the company claims offer more value to the players. These features include new weapons, a new game mode dubbed Survival Mode and a big boss fight in the form of the fight with Cohaagen in the final Colony “Fall” mission.

The Game also features a special “Golden Eye Gun” for customers of the Total Recall DVD. The weapon is unlocked through a code found in the DVD of the movie. It lets you rip through the enemies with the most powerful and rapid-fire mini gun, Golden Eye.

The game is being made available on all iOS and Android devices. Total Recall puts players in the shoes of Douglas Quaid, the simple factory-worker-turned-action-hero played by Colin Farrell, in the Columbia Pictures movie. The year is 2084 and you suddenly find yourself on the run from mysterious assailants after a trip to a memory implant centre goes horribly wrong. Featuring intense FPS-Rail Shooter action and 3D graphics, the game offers players a fast-paced experience that follows the same mind-bending storyline as the movie. Players must shoot their assailants and develop their skills while searching for the ultimate truth, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
