MTS releases unlimited social media plan for MBlaze users

MTS has launched the new unlimited social media plan for its customers. MTS hasn’t put forth this plan to only attract new customers as it is made available to both its existing and new customers.  Keeping in mind the popular social networks accessed in India, this plan gives users unlimited access to three social media services - Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. The plan is priced at Rs. 647 for both existing and new users. For existing users, the bundled data usage is 6GB while for new users it is 4GB. For both, the additional data charges will be Re.1/MB with a validity period of 30 days.

So, basically, on a large screen format, you can access the three popular URLs, www.facebook.com , www.twitter.com and www.linkedin.com, for free for 30 days. Bundled Usage of 6GB for new customers and 4GB for existing customers will be utilized for browsing all the URLs other than the content for these three websites and will be charged if they cross the data limit.

Last month, Bharti Airtel had announced the launch of new broadband plans, with minimum broadband speed at 2mbps in its top 10 cities and from 1Mbps onwards for all other cities across the country. These 2mbps plans were offered in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.  For all the other markets, across its service areas in the country, the new plans offer a minimum broadband speed of 1mbps. Tikona had also delved into the broadband home segment with their new ‘Bill Free Plan’ earlier this month. The new plan is designed to provide up to 30,000MB of bundled usage for a period of 30 months at a ‘hassle-free’ one time payment of Rs. 2,999 (plus service tax). Earlier this year, MTNL had also offered its 2 Mbps plan for Rs.25/month in Mumbai. Here are the specifics of that plan:

• Plan Name: Broadband Every Home Plan
• Annual Service Charges: Rs.300 (will be taken in 1st bill)
• Download Speed: upto 2 Mbps
• Upload Speed: upto 512 Kbps
• Free Data Usage: 50 MB per month
• Additional Usage Charges: 51 MB to 500 MB at 50p/MB, 501 MB to 1 GB at 30p/MB, 1GB onwards at 20p/MB
• Bill Cap: Rs. 5,500/- per month for usage, beyond Bill Cap FREE unlimited usage at 2Mbps download speed.
• Monthly Modem Charges: Rs.50 (for MTNL Modem)
