Tikona, frontrunners in outdoor Wi-Fi networks have delved into the broadband home segment with their new ‘Bill Free Plan’. This new plan is designed to provide up to 30,000 MB of bundled usage for a period of 30 months at a ‘hassle – free’ one time payment of Rs. 2,999 (plus service tax). It’s not exactly ‘Bill Free’, as they might claim, as users have to cough up 10p for every additional MB used beyond their allotted slot.
Tikona Digital Networks, it seems have plans to try and capture the entire Indian market with their ZMR 2999 plan being made available in every region of the country. This new plan allows a maximum number of 6 PCs per registration bringing the subscription amount to Rs. 3,308, including one-time charges and service tax. Their new connection also offers a complementary antivirus worth Rs. 1,500 per annum with every connection to sweeten the deal.
Tikona's New Broadband Plan!
According to their plan, users pay Rs. 100 to get 1GB per month for 30 months, which is relatively less (downloading wise) in today’s world, with even basic surfing including social networking, YouTube browsing, internet radio, bringing your monthly usage to around 5GB i.e. minimum Rs. 500 extra per month. On a comparative basis, MTNL offers unlimited download plans with their 395, 495, and 599 plans, albeit at lower download speeds.
Tikona might have superior Internet connection, however, switching to Tikona means a definite and substantial increase in monthly bills, or in this case, your complete bill after 30 months! With their closest competitors i.e. MTNL, providing a true unlimited usage plan, it seems like Tikona might have some fierce competition whilst trying to capture the broadband market.
