Acer Adds Multitouch Laptop to Line-up

Acer has introduced a laptop with multitouch display - the Acer Aspire 5738PzG. The laptop includes a 15.6-inch screen with advanced multi-touch technology for an enriched digital multimedia experience with fingertip precision. Navigation is quick and seamless with touch screen features which allow the user to instinctively zoom in and out, manipulate pictures and artwork easily, browse photos, websites or documents by simply touching the screen. The company also launched a premium stylish All-In-One PC featuring the multi-touch technology. The Aspire 5600 series All-In-One PC has a minimalist design scheme and comes with Microsoft's Touch Pack for Windows. S. Multitouch input brings a new dimension to laptop functionality as it offers a natural way for users to interact with PCs. With the introduction of the Aspire 5738PzG Notebook & the Aspire 5600 series All-In-One PC, Acer is heralding a touch revolution & opening the doors to further innovation in future technology.” The laptop will come preloaded with Windows 7, which has native touchscreen support and enables ease of everyday tasks like document or printer sharing, photo editing/sharing, emailing. Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, Microsoft India said, “Acer has always been a very strong partner for Microsoft and we are excited as we embark on a whole new journey together that will reshape the computing experience around human contexts and situations, building products that adapt to the way people live and interact. The Acer Aspire 5738PzG series and Aspire 5600 series All-in-One PC along with the touch capabilities built in Windows 7 will enable consumers to discover new and intuitive ways to engage with their PC. Further, the Aspire 5600 series All-In-One PC paves the way for the PC to take the center stage at the home. Enabled by Windows Touch Pack, it provides consumers with a variety of multi-touch applications and games that the whole family can explore together.” The Aspire 5600 series All in One PC is centered on its 23-inch widescreen touch display with 1080p capabilities and has an Intel Quad core processor (Q8200), 4GB RAM, 1 TB HDD for storage space. The AIO comes equipped with inbuilt DVD RW, TV Tuner card for easy connectivity to third party devices, 512 MB dedicated graphics card for gaming enthusiasts, WI-FI, and a wireless keyboard and mouse. The machine is also powered by the latest Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. The system includes Acer's TouchPortal and Acer Touch Gadgets to ease new users into the touch-based user interface. Acer TouchMediaShare allows users to organize and share digital photos on online photo albums like Facebook and Flickr. Other Touch Gadgets include TouchMusic, TouchPhotoShow, TouchFriends, and TouchMemo. TouchFriends and TouchMediaShare both facilitate social networking on this sharable PC. The Aspire 5738PzG laptop is priced at 43,500 + all applicable taxes and the Aspire 5600 series AIO is priced starting at an end-user price of Rs 60,000 + all applicable taxes. |
