Acer launches TravelMate TM P243 notebook for SMB, SOHO segment

Acer India, a leading vendor in the notebook space, has beefed up its product portfolio in the commercial segment and announced the launch of its new notebook range under the TravelMate series – the Acer TM P243.  Featuring Acer’s unique suite of security and manageability solutions, the TM P243 offers consumers with the highest level of data protection through its Acer ProShield Security, Acer Office Manager (AOM) and eRecovery Manager. The Acer TM P243 starts at a price tag of Rs. 36,000 onwards.

With Acer’s ProShield Security feature, the user’s resources are protected so that even if the laptop is stolen or lost the information cannot be utilized; while the Acer Backup/eRecovery solution copies all the users’ information to secure the data and offers need basis data recovery. Targetted to meet the diverse needs of consumers in the SMB and SOHO segment, the TM P243 offers enhanced multi-tasking capabilities. Powered by the 3rd generation Intel Core-i processor with Turbo Boost Technology, the TM P243 notebook will provide faster performance, flexibility of use and will meet the complex computing demands of users while ensuring maximum security and reliability.
Built for long lasting use, the Acer TravelMate series have undergone a series of reliability tests. Acer’s TM P243 industry-changing build quality makes it sturdy and durable.  Enclosed in a simple yet highly practical design with steel hinges that offer 20,000 iterations of hinge cycling, the notebook has been designed to execute demanding tasks and boost productivity. On the notebook’s 14" high-definition LED backlit display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, business professionals can enjoy great viewing and can deliver presentations with excellent clarity.

Multi-level Acer ProShield Security features pre-boot authentication (PBA) with BIOS/HDD password that will help in protecting the notebook.  It allows creating a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to seamlessly store and encrypt all critical files, so that even if the notebook is stolen or lost the data cannot be accessed. Unwanted files or folders can be permanently removed beyond recovery thanks to the File Shredder utility. Finally, it offers the automated solution to manage IT assets remotely on the go. Another layer of security offered by Acer is the Backup/eRecovery Manager to backup all valuable data and media library. Acer eRecovery Manager provides recovery on demand.
 
The TravelMate P243 comes with an option of Acer Office Manager (AOM), a manageability solution which allows SMBs to deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks in one simple manageability package. Since graphics and multimedia is an essential requirement of every working professional, Acer has packed the TM P243 with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics card that provides astonishing graphics capability. The notebook also has an HDMI port, so users can conveniently utilize a single cable connection to deliver video and audio to an external source. In addition, the notebook also comes with the USB 3.0 port that enables quick charging of mobile devices via USB even when powered off.
