Samsung today announced two additions to its high performance Series 7 PC line-up at the ongoing CES event. The Series 7 Chronos 770Z5E and the Series 7 Ultra 730U3E are the newest entrants in the notebook and ultrabook markets.
Aimed at professional users, Series 7 Chronos is a sleek piece that is designed in a slim chassis measuring just 20.9mm (0.82 inches) and weighing 5.2 pounds; it is slightly heavier than Ultrabooks.
The Chronos 7 boasts of enhanced processing power and a new software solution RAMaccelerator that is said to provide up to 150 percent increase in speed for browsing and running apps by taking advantage of the existing memory. The sleek machine can support 10-finger multi-touch to help users interact directly with the screen, as well as the touchpad and keyboard.
The Samsung Series7 Ultrabook
The Series 7 Chronos packs a powerful Intel quad-core processor with up to 16GB of memory, up to 1TB of storage and dedicated 2GB external graphics in its body. It features a high resolution, Full HD display (1920 x 1080) with 300nit brightness, rich sound thanks to its JBL optimised speakers, enhanced graphics and an extended battery life of 11 hours. The laptop wakes in two seconds and boots in less than twelve seconds.
The Series 7 Ultra, on the other hand, is super slim at 18.9mm thick and weighing 3.6 pounds. It also features full HD display (1920 x 1080) with 350nit brightness, as well as JBL optimised speakers and an AMD graphics processor. The laptop’s display is brighter and wider than previous models and features a 178-degree viewing angle.
The Series 7 Ultra is powered by the latest Intel Core i5 or i7 processors with up to 256GB SSD storage. The device claims up to 8 hours of battery life and a 6 second boot-up time.
The touch model base device will also be available with 4G LTE connectivity, further enhancing accessibility from anywhere. It also features three USB ports as well as a LAN port and a slim security slot.
As with most Samsung products, there has been no word on pricing or when these machines will be available.
