Toshiba has announced the Portégé R400 tablet PC. This new product is a collaboration between Toshiba and Microsoft to create what they call a "signature Windows Vista PC". One of its unique features is the fact that it is the world's first tablet with the ability to automatically synchronize e-mail and calendar events through the integration of Microsoft's Active Notifications. Image Courtesy Dailytech Toshiba to complement this new tablet has also added a secondary screen to the Protégé R400 which like today's earlier announcement the Asus W5Fe can be used to view PIM information. Toshiba has also announced plans to ship a wireless dock system for this new laptop, which does away with the need for the standard dock system. The new tablet works on the Core solo platform, sports a 12.1 inch screen and is expected to ship on January 30 along with other Vista based products. |
